Another simple craft for children this Mother’s Day is to help them make Mother’s Day gift bags with colored paper bags, glitter glue and leftover greeting cards. These gift bags can be made for Mother’s Day or any other holiday, and are really simple for preschoolers and kindergarteners to make, but can be fun for older kids, too.

A gift bag can be made and filled with Mother’s Day presents such as candy, handmade beaded jewelry or even flowers. Or, children can make several gift bags and give them to mom as a set. Mom can use them to send her own gifts throughout the year.

How to Make a Gift Bag for Mom
Gather together the following simple and affordable ingredients:
Plain paper gift bags of assorted colors and sizes
Glue stick
Glitter glue, assorted colors
Used greeting cards from previous holidays
Scissors

Assemble a gift bag with the kids by following these steps:
1. Cut around a part of old greeting cards that contain complimentary pictures, drawings, and meaningful words.
2. Using the glue stick, paste the cut out card onto the gift bag of choice. Center appropriately.
3. Dab glitter glue all the way around the edges of the card attached to the gift bag. This will hide the edge and make a nice frame for the picture/words.
4. Let dry.
5. Fill the bag with presents, flowers, or other nice items for mom.

This craft is a great way to reuse old greeting cards. I have a stack of them piled up and didn’t want to throw them away. Thanks for the idea.
